After great first visits to Poole and Nottingham, the shows at Southbank’s Queen Elizabeth Hall exceeded all expectations, with sold out performances and an additional show added over Easter weekend which had everyone dancing in the aisles.

We had a wide range of guests joining Dan and his band onstage from 7 year old star djembe player Mael to legendary singer songwriter Nick Lowe and quite a few family bands. A warm thank you to:

Ansuman Biswas and his son Oshin
Ayanna Witter-Johnson
The Crouch Family Band – Julian Crouch, Vicky Finney and their sons James and Joshua
David Coulter
The Gibson Family Band – Andy Gibson, Emma Clackson and their son Earl
Jake Rodrigues and his son Caspar
Mael Epktini and his teacher Adesosi Wallace
Mat Huxley
Missy and her father Damon Albarn
Nick Lowe
Tjinder Singh of Cornershop and his son Ariel

Circo de la Sombra with Le Grande Osim Orchestra
The shows went down a storm and they are a very happy company after their visits to Southampton, Nottingham, Derby and Leeds.  We were very pleased to be working with Nottingham Playhouse, Derby Live, Southampton Nuffield and Leeds West Yorkshire Playhouse.

City Circ launch

Thank you to all who came to the launch on 17 April. We were very busy with the CircoStrada delegation of circus promoters from all over Europe. The City Circ season now runs until August 2009 with new shows being added to the website, check it out for regular updates.

May Half Term treats

TPO at Purcell Room and National Tour –shows are selling out. Watch this space as an additional performance might be added.

Feedback at artsdepot and Hackney Empire

We are delighted to collaborate with both venues for the first time with this award winning show from Belgium, which Rachel commissioned two years ago for the Manchester International Festival.

Vex at Hackney Empire

We will be getting together again with St Bonadventure’s students from Newham to revive the show for two special performances at the Hackney Empire’s Hackney Youth Festival as part of Create – watch this space for further information.
