(re)Stretch

Sophia Clist (UK) in collaboration with Nick Burge

AWESOME International Arts Festival, Perth Australia

19 - 27 November

A blank canvas, an electro acoustic harp, minimalist and symbolic in appearance, (re)Stretch is a screen made of hundreds of strands of fine shearing elastic under tension, stretching from wall to wall across a space. Its many miles of elastic create a permeable threshold or boundary, radically altering the architecture of the space it occupies.

A stand alone interactive installation, there are no instructions about what to do or how to be. Make your own multisensory journey outside in.

Stretch is an evolving artwork conceived and designed by Sophia Clist and developed in collaboration with Craig Vear, Nick Burge, Ragnhild Olsen, Sarah Cameron, Anouk Llaurens and Jonathan Eato.

(re)Stretch was presented in January 2011 by Birmingham Hippodrome in association with DanceXchange.
